Harebells

Harebells, Campanula rotundifolia, on a stone wall in Hayes village. 5 May 2011.  They are called bluebells in Scotland.

These were probably planted and have spread rather than having grown here naturally.

  2. Yes, with its delicate black lines and refined blossoms, it is like the finest of flower paintings--and not the botanical books ones.
