Sixteen Spot
Sixteen-spot ladybird, Titthaspis sedecimpunctata, on a cat's-ear flower in the meadow in Spring Park, 25 May 2011.
Taken with the EOS 450D and 100mm macro lens.
It was not! But you still have to look hard to see anything this small. And see how its colour matches the background, which has been rendered impressionistic by the long lens, so it should blend quite well into other parts of the meadow.
Whatever sixteen-spot camouflage evolved for (or evolved in, to avoid teleology) it wasn't this flower.
