Just after posting photos of two other thistles, I twice came across some of these scarcer ones. These were relatively weak specimens; I saw a much sturdier one on
Riddlesdown on 2 July, though I didn't get a good photo. Here are the other two I posted recently:
Creeping Thistle and
Spear Thistle.
