Greater stitchwort flower.

Greater stitchwort, Stellaria holostea, flowering in Hayes. 15 April 2011. It normally has five petals, but several flowers in this patch had six.

    Beautiful light and color, and as for the flower, whether with five or six petals, each petal is deeply notched, and that is very pretty indeed.

    This was in a shaded spot, which makes the greens seem darker, and allows a decent photo of white flowers, which otherwise tend to be burned out.
