I am still getting tiny numbers of moths in my trap, or none at all; on April 7th it was two of these. This one is photographed against a background of Silver Birch bark. That works much better for this grey moth than the brown bark I have been using for moths from the last few traps.
Heavens, I'd like to have (if I were young, fashionable, and rather rich) yards and yards of silk, say chiffon to overlay velvet or satin, brown or steel gray or café au lait, to make a formal ball gown—or in a heavier silk to upholster something Louis XV, or why not something elegantly modern. What was the silk like that novelists called peau de soie, if chiffon were too light.
